Denise Batiste started capturing moments on film at the young age of seven when she received her first camera from her parents as a Christmas present. She's always been fascinated by the emotion and beauty of photography. As a young child, she remembers being mesmerized by the images on the pages of Look and Life magazines. In high school, she served as a yearbook editor and was responsible for designing the layout of the photographs on the pages. While attending the University of Rochester, she worked for four summers as a college intern at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. Her lunchtime hours were usually spent in the Camera Club Darkroom at Kodak Park where she fine-tuned her photography skills by developing her own prints. After a successful sales and marketing career in Corporate America, Denise was able to follow her lifelong dream of becoming a professional photographer.
Denise is an active member of the Digital Wedding Forum, the Professional Photographers Society of New York State and the Greater Rochester Professional Photographers. She has completed numerous photography courses at The Community Darkroom and continues to sharpen her skills through ongoing seminars, conferences and webinars. Denise has traveled throughout New York State to photograph over 100 weddings and has enjoyed the uniqueness of each and every one.
As a former fashion model, Denise knows firsthand what it's like to be in front of the camera. Now that she's behind the camera, she uses that knowledge to make her clients feel comfortable. Whether she's photographing a huge lavish wedding, a surprise birthday party or a high school senior's yearbook photograph, she does her best to make her clients feel at ease.
